The Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation (DEMEC)
issues this Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit competitive
proposals for renewable energy from qualifying renewable energy
sources. This RFP is open to parties seeking to propose to
develop or currently own or have rights to a generating facility
that produces electrical energy from renewable resources.
For the purposes of this proposal qualifying
renewable energy resources shall include solar, wind,
hydropower, landfill gas, geothermal resources, ocean thermal
energy conversion, wave, tidal or current energy, fuel cells
where the fuel is derived entirely form renewable resources, and
biomass that has been cultivated and harvested in a sustainable
manner as determined by the Delaware Department of Natural
Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC). This RFP process
will be used to evaluate proposals for the renewable energy
supply.
