Delaware Electric COOP
The Delaware Electric Cooperative’s service territory is
located in Kent and Sussex County where Conectiv Power Delivery
and other municipal utilities do not provide service.
In 2001, the EIA noted that this cooperatively-owned
utility had nearly 60,000 customers and sold a total of
832,136,000 kWh of electricity.
The Cooperative provides educational
information on energy efficiency through resources provided by
the U.S. DOE and offers a link to U.S. DOE “Energy Savers”
web site; however no organized energy efficiency programs are
being offered at this time. The Delaware Electric Cooperative’s existing
interconnection policy is limited to 1 MW and includes a net
energy metering tariff for eligible members installing renewable
energy generation facilities not exceeding 25 kW.
The rules and tariff can be downloaded from their
website.
